Batch is built from birch plywood and finished with Woodoc Interior. The front-facing shelves mean covers stay visible rather than disappearing into a spine-only stack, which is the whole point if you actually like the magazines you buy. It works just as well for children’s picture books, where being able to see the cover is the difference between a book being read and being forgotten.

Good to know
Front-facing shelves need a little breathing room, so leave a hand’s width above the top shelf if you are fitting it under a cupboard. It holds A4 magazines comfortably and most hardback picture books, though very oversized coffee-table books are better off elsewhere. The four shelves also work well as a magazine and catalogue display in a waiting room, where covers facing out are doing an actual job rather than just looking tidy.
